BD Diesel recognized an inherent design flaw with the OEM exhaust manifold that has lead to premature wear, warped exhaust manifolds, broken exhaust studs, and blown manifold gaskets. These were the result of the factory manifolds using only 8 of the 11 studs locations available. BD Diesel set out to address this issue while also improving exhaust flow and durability with their Exhaust Manifold Set. These manifolds are made from thicker-walled high silicone ductile iron designed to resist thermal warping and have been port matched to the cylinder head to optimize efficiency and promote quicker turbo spool up.
