This BladeRunner Intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers. Designed specifically for the Ford F150 Ecoboost 3.5L (tt) the BladeRunner intercooler utilizes a 3" bar and plate core design that is larger than stock and outflows the OE tube and fin core design by up to 20% while being 95% more efficient. The 3/16" Tig-Welded end tanks and brackets offer superior strength, and durability while incorporating aFe multi-directional vanes technology. A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2011-2014 models by either incorporating the factory Electronic Re-circulating Valve, or closing the port with the included block-off plate. AFe also addressed the OE intercooler water condensation issue, by incorporating a CNC machined vent tube, which incorporates a brass 1/8" NPT breather vent. For those wishing not to use this feature, a solid NPT plug is also included.
Tig-Welded End Tanks:
The unique, BladeRunner end tanks are constructed out of 3/16'' TIG-Welded aluminum plates that incorporate four multi-directional vanes throughout the intercooler.
Multi-Directional Vanes technology (MDV) Technology:
The BladeRunner MDV technology is used to direct hot airflow through the entire intercooler core allowing for increased air flow and cooling capacity.
3" Bar and Plate Core Design:
The use of the bar and plate core design allows for greater airflow and increased heat dissipation over the much smaller tube and fin design used by the OEM.
CNC Machined Bypass Flange:
A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2011-2014 models by either incorporating the Electronic Re-circulating Valve, or closing the port with the included block-off plate.
The intercooler includes a 1/8" NPT brass breather vent, which drains condensation from the intercooler. The port can also be plugged using the included 1/8" NPT plug.
Billet Aluminum Inlet/Outlets:
This BladeRunner Intercooler uses dual 2.25" billet aluminum inlets and a 3" outlet for superior strength and durability.
Flow And Efficiency:
Flowing 20% better than the factory unit, the BladeRunner Intercooler performed above 95% efficiency, compared to the 88% efficiency of the factory intercooler. While tested on the field at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, the BladeRunner cooled outlet flow temperature to 77 degrees. Under the same conditions, the factory unit cooled outlet flow temperature to 91 degrees.
The BladeRunner Intercooler is pressure test rated at 200psi which is perfect for high boost applications.
